Bit (bit)

The smallest unit of digital information. A bit can have a value of 0 or 1. Eight bits make one byte.

1 bit = 1/8 byte = 0.125 bytes

Byte (B)

The basic unit of digital information. One byte consists of 8 bits and can represent one character.

File Size Units

The most commonly used file size units include:

Bit (bit): The smallest unit, representing 0 or 1
Byte (B): 8 bits, the basic unit of digital information

Binary vs Decimal
