Understanding Fitness Scores
A fitness score is a comprehensive assessment of your overall physical fitness based on multiple components including cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition. This calculator evaluates each component and provides an overall fitness score to help you understand your current fitness level and areas for improvement.
Fitness Components
The calculator assesses five key fitness components:
- BMI Score: Body Mass Index assessment based on height and weight
- Body Composition: Body fat percentage assessment
- Cardiovascular: Cardiovascular endurance based on run/walk times
- Muscular Strength: Upper body strength based on push-up performance
- Flexibility: Flexibility assessment based on sit & reach test
Scoring System
Each component is scored from 0-100 and weighted to calculate the overall score:
- Excellent (90-100): Outstanding fitness level
- Good (75-89): Above average fitness
- Average (60-74): Average fitness level
- Poor (40-59): Below average, needs improvement
- Very Poor (0-39): Significantly below average
How to Improve Your Fitness
Based on your assessment, focus on these areas:
- Cardio: Run, walk, swim, or cycle regularly
- Strength: Perform push-ups, squats, and resistance training
- Flexibility: Stretch daily and practice yoga
- Body Composition: Combine exercise with proper nutrition
