Understanding On-Page SEO

Keyword Density

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword appears in your content compared to the total word count.

  • Optimal Range: 1% - 2%
  • Too Low: Search engines may not understand the topic
  • Too High: Risk of "keyword stuffing" penalties

Title & Meta Lengths

Search engines truncate titles and descriptions that are too long.

  • Title Tag: 50-60 characters (approx. 600px)
  • Meta Description: 150-160 characters
  • Tip: Place the target keyword near the beginning of the title

Readability Score

Based on the Flesch Reading Ease formula, this measures how easy your content is to read.

  • 90-100: Very Easy (5th grade)
  • 60-70: Standard (8th-9th grade) - Recommended
  • 0-30: Very Difficult (College graduate)

Content Best Practices

  • Word Count: Aim for 1,000+ words for comprehensive topics
  • Headings: Use H1 for title, H2/H3 for structure
  • Internal Links: Link to other relevant pages on your site
  • Image Alt Text: Describe images using natural language and keywords
  • Short Paragraphs: 2-3 sentences max for better readability
