Understanding Grade Improvement
A grade improvement calculator helps students determine what grades they need on remaining assignments to reach their target grade. By analyzing your current performance and the weight of remaining work, you can create a realistic plan to achieve your academic goals.
How to Use This Calculator
Follow these steps to plan your grade improvement:
- Step 1: Enter all your completed assignment grades and their weights
- Step 2: Enter your target grade (A, B, C, or D)
- Step 3: Enter the number and total weight of remaining assignments
- Step 4: Click "Calculate" to see what you need on remaining work
- Step 5: View your improvement plan with detailed breakdown
- Step 6: Use the Scenarios tab to explore different possibilities
Grade Improvement Formula
The calculator uses the weighted average formula:
- Current Grade: Sum of (Grade × Weight) for completed assignments
- Target Formula: Needed = (Target - Current × Current Weight) ÷ Remaining Weight
- Example: If you have 75% (60% weight) and want 80% with 40% remaining: Need 87.5% on remaining
